This guide provides straightforward steps on how to upload episodes to PodcastAI, transcribe them, and identify the speakers within each episode.

Uploading an episode

Uploading your episode is the initial step to make your content available on PodcastAI. By doing so, you set the foundation for all subsequent enhancements.

How do I use it?

  1. Navigate to your Dashboard.

  2. Click on "Shows" and select the show you wish to upload an episode for.

  3. Above the show thumbnail, click on "..." (more options) and select "Upload Episode".

  4. Either drag and drop your file or select it from your storage. PodcastAI supports MP3s, M4A, and Mp4 formats.

  5. Click "Upload". Once completed, the system will guide you to the next step.

Transcribing an episode

Transcribing turns your audio into text, making content accessible and easy for users to navigate or search for specific segments.

How do I use it?

  1. From the Dashboard, click on "Shows" and choose the episode you want to transcribe.

  2. In the "Getting Started" guide of the episode, opt for "Transcribe the episode".

  3. Click on "Transcribe". This process may take 10-15 seconds depending on the episode's length. Please remain on the screen until it's done.

  4. Click "Next" to proceed.

Identifying the speaker

Identifying the speaker provides context, ensuring listeners know who's speaking at any given time, which enhances the overall experience.

How do I use it?

  1. Inside the "Getting Started" section for your episode, click "Go to speakers."

  2. Spot and identify speakers with significant speaking time (5% or more). Ignore those with minimal contributions (0-3%).

  3. To identify a speaker, play the audio by clicking the user icon. Once you've identified them, click "..." next to their label (like Speaker 1) and choose the appropriate designation ("guest" or a specific host name).

  4. Repeat for each relevant speaker.

Pro Tip: Sometimes, a longer listen is essential to determine the speaker accurately.

What's next?
