On PodcastAI, shows and hosts are the foundation of your content. This guide will walk you through setting up both to bring your episodes to life.

Setting up a show

A show, often known as a podcast or YouTube series, houses your episodes. Setting up a show helps categorize and streamline your content, making it accessible for listeners.

How do I use it?

  1. Select "Shows" from the top menu.

  2. Click on "New Show".

  3. Type in the "Title" of your show, keeping it under 128 characters.

  4. Provide a "Description", ensuring it's within the 512-character limit.

  5. Confirm by pressing "Ok".

Setting up a host

Hosts are the central characters of your shows, whether they are real individuals or fictional personas. By setting up AI hosts, you provide context and personality to your content.

How do I use it?

  1. Select "Hosts" from the top menu.

  2. Click on "New Host".

  3. Fill in the "Name" of the host, which can be real or fictional but must be under 64 characters.

  4. Write a "Biography" for the host, giving a concise description within the 768-character limit. The more accurate this biography, the better your AI host will perform.

  5. Confirm by pressing "Ok".

Assigning a host to a show

Assigning a host to your show not only offers listeners clarity on the speaker but also bolsters metadata, streamlines speaker identification, and enriches features like semantic search, chat, and ad read generation.

How do I use it?

  1. Navigate to "Shows" from the top menu on your dashboard.

  2. Find and click on "your show name".

  3. Click on "..." (more options) located next to your show details and select "Edit".

  4. Spot the "+" button adjacent to the "Hosts" section.

  5. Click on it and a list will appear. Choose the desired host from the list to assign them to your show.
